Whether you searched “piano teacher San Jose,” “piano teacher near me,” “piano music teachers near me,” or “San Jose piano teachers,” the goal is the same: find a teacher you trust, who teaches seriously, and who respects your time. I offer private lessons only—no group classes—rooted in classical training and practical coaching.

Apps can supplement, but they rarely replace a teacher who diagnoses tension, musical phrasing, and efficient practice. If you want more than “tap-along” exercises, private lessons are the fastest path to real playing.

This is a single-teacher studio. You work directly with Eric Liu every lesson, not a rotating staff. Weekly plans are individualized, not pulled from a method-book curriculum applied to a cohort.
Advanced students get repertoire-level coaching with focus on musical language, tone hierarchy, and efficient practice. Past students range from beginners through performance-level repertoire (Chopin, Bach, Beethoven).
Weekly is the default; bi-weekly works for self-disciplined adults. Lessons are typically 45 or 60 minutes. We pick a recurring weekly time slot during the first month.
